Time for Tea: Tea and Conversation With Thirteen English Women
Published in Hardcover by Crown Pub (May, 1995)
Average review score:

Tea and Scones anyone?I feel like I have had Tea with 13 different women and come away with 13 delicous recipes! The description of the countryside, and cities made me feel as if I was right there, I think I could actually hear the church bells ringing! The sharing of their lives was a fascinating read. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you for such a book!
Totally Charming BookYou'll love this book if you like England or tea. The writer is an unusally skilled interviewer and her subjects reveal more than you would ever expect from an English woman. They don't always say the expected thing!
The photography and presentation are excellent. Recipes are included. This is a lovely gift for someone else or for yourself. It's a charmer.

Too Much Coffee Man: Guide for the Perplexed
Published in Paperback by Dark Horse Comics (13 May, 1998)
Average review score:

Good To The Last Drop.A great read. I couldn't put it down, even when confronted by wild children and an irate spouse. TMCM does battle with the contradictions and idiocy of everyday life, saves the men of Mars, screams at the dirty dishes, wanders about naked, and leaves us with a sense of wonder (or is it wonderment?) at his nicotine and caffeine induced "super" powers. Wheeler's wry social commentary aligns him with the likes of Outcault, Herriman, McKay and Bushmiller. TMCM is a sure antidote to drivel like "Zippy" (not to mention the fact that it is far better drawn). Spare poor Shannon Wheeler the pain of seeing his work ignored. Read this book. Write a review. Keep the pot fresh. The Guatman
It seemed to mirror my own life.I had mixed feelings about reading this book. Finally, late one night, I managed to open the book to a random page and start reading. I was sucked in. My own thoughts were expressed in ways I never thought possible. In many ways this is the best book I have ever read. Soon I'll start to write a second book. -Shannon Wheeler

Wake Up and Smell the Coffee!: Advice, Wisdom, and Uncommon Good Sense
Published in Hardcover by Villard Books (May, 1996)

Very Good Book... Ann Landers Was AwesomeI'm such a huge fan of Ann Landers! I read this book after her death, actually, but she continues to inspire me. A while before she died I started to cut out her newspaper columns and store them... But reading a book of them is better!
Very funny and extremely weird in some parts, and sad or gross or touching in others. I recommend it. It's entertainment!
As always, Ms. Landers gives her brilliant advice... And even if you don't always agree with what she says, it'll get you thinking. And that's something, isn't it?

Buy this book!I admit it...I go straight for the Ann Landers column in the paper before anything else. This book is great to have around because you can enjoy Ann's column anytime you want. All the classics are in here too: Poems, tear-jerkers, and laughs galore. Every kind of ailment and family squabble is commented on. Better than the Springer show. ha ha
I loaned my copy to my retiree parents. They made the book last by reading one printed column a day. I couldn't be that patient. I liked it so much, I couldn't put it down and felt compelled to write notes in the side margins! I've never done THAT before or since buying this book.

Wake Up and Smell the Coffee: 365 Daily Doses of Reality
Published in Paperback by Berkley Pub Group (December, 1995)
Average review score:

Honestly Mean, but funny-really funny! My GrandAunt Betty owns and operates a "Used-Book Store" and she came accross this little beauty of a book. She apparently thought that it looked sweet and inspirational(she didn't read the inside). Anyway, she gave it to my cousin Kim(musician/singer) as a present a few months ago for her birthday and sure as the probability of a hangover after drinking tequila all night, my cousin immediately looked for the dose of reality that corresponds with her birthday. It said, "your over thirty and you will probably never be a rockstar!" Needless to say Kim now hates the bastards who wrote the book but she still thinks they're funny.
a refreshing alternative to sappy inspirational nonsense! This Book brings so much laughter to everyone I share it with...cynical, clever and oh so painfully true..there daily "meditations" will have you in stitches!!

Afternoon Delights: Coffeehouse Favorites: Cookies & Coffee Cake, Brownies & Bars, Scones & More
Published in Hardcover by Chronicle Books (October, 2001)
Average review score:

Just the recipes I wanted!I saw James and Andrew teach at Sur la Table last fall and I thought their recipes were delicious! I remain particularly smitten by the old-fashioned brownies (with frosting!) and the gingersnaps. There are several other typical cafe recipes in here--biscotti, some tasty scones, more cookies. There aren't a ton of recipes, but every one of them is for something you already know you love--no weirdos. The book is beautiful and the recipes work--what more could you ask for? Maybe someone to make the coffee.

Average review score:

Relaxation TimeThis is a very charming collection of poems about one of my favorite things - coffee! The author has a deep relaxing voice with soothing guitar playing between poems which he also plays. I very much enjoyed this CD and also the book of poems which has all the poems written in it. It lets you know you are not alone in your love for coffee.
